SUPPER TIME WITH SMALL CHILDREN

Supper time at our house takes place between 5-5:30 p.m. each day.  Wow!  Things can get CRAZY in a hurry!  I strive to use 'props' in order to keep dinner time peaceful and orderly.  I found these seasonal plates at Kroger. ( if you LOOK- there are GREAT items ALL around you!).  Place the food on each child's plate in the same order- this creates a system.  Notice: the candle is burning in the background- candles are SOOTHING at all times of the day.  Wishing you Moms an orderly and calm dinner hour.

LOVE IT!!! Last week I found similar plates at Target and got 6! John laughed and said 'No Way would all the kids eat off of them!!' ALL of them loved them and they are 17, 15, 13, 9, 8, and 5!!! We also have a set dinner time. All of the kids know we eat at 5:30. It's so comforting and helps them plan their time as they have become older, independent and pulled in so many directions. They work hard to make plans around family dinner. It's such a great time for us all to connect and celebrate what God has done that day. Bless you Beth for your encouragement in all things sweet, beautiful and peaceful!!

Little touches are very appreciated by children even if they don't know how to express it. It takes so little to make a celebration out of common events. Children love "special" touches.
